Maspeth Federal Savings Bank recognized the tremendous impact of COVID-19 on the individuals and businesses in their community and wanted to do something to support them. A social media campaign called "It Takes A Community" came out of that desire to help.

Project Goals

The Ask: Position the bank as an integral member of the Maspeth, NY, community committed to supporting local businesses amid the financial strain of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Answer: Develop a social media campaign to show support for businesses throughout the hard-hit local community and offset the impact of the pandemic.

The Process

The campaign reached out to community members to collect nominations for local businesses, essential workers and first responders. The bank pledged to award $1,000 to up to 10 businesses and $250 and two KN95 masks to individuals. As an added touch, anyone submitting a nomination could include a message about why they felt the business or person deserved to win. The messages would accompany the announcement of each winner.
